A shadowbanned account can post and comment, sees its own content, and is invisible to everyone else. It is the most common outcome for a marketing account, because Reddit's spam filter applies it automatically and nobody tells you.
Checking in a minute
Open your profile page while logged out (or in a private window). If it shows "page not found" or no content, the account is shadowbanned. Alternatively, post a comment and view the thread logged out; if the comment is not there, same answer.
Do this weekly for any account that mentions a product. Software can do it for you: the check is a public page fetch.
The usual causes
- A new account that posted links early.
- The same text in several subreddits.
- A promotional ratio a filter can see.
- Many removals in a short window.
- Voting from more than one account on the same device.
The appeal
Reddit's appeal form asks what you think happened. Be honest and specific: "I posted a link to my own project in three subreddits in my first week; I understand why that looks like spam and I will not do it again." Vague appeals are ignored; specific, honest ones are often lifted within a few days.
Running the account afterwards
Treat a lifted shadowban as a reset to a new account. Back to helpful replies only, no links, no mentions, for a month. Caps lower than before. Removed posts versus shadowban
If moderators removed your posts, you are not shadowbanned; that is a subreddit decision and you can message the moderators. A pattern of removals across subreddits is the signal that a shadowban is coming, so slow down when you see it.

Do not make a second account to continue. Reddit links accounts by device and behaviour, and the second ban is permanent for both.
